Our knowledge of the role of proteins in cellular processes is continually evolving. Most proteins, including resistin antagonist are typically involved in one or more signaling pathways or biological processes. Professionally manufactured recombinant proteins are increasingly becoming essential and commonplace tools for elucidating new knowledge about the role of proteins in both health and disease.

resistin antagonist n/a

Solubility: It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized resistin in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other buffered aqueous solutions containing carrier proteins.
Protein Content: Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 1.26 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the computer analysis program of protein sequences (DNAman).
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of BSA as a Reference Standard.
Dimers and Aggregates: The protein is a covalent monomer and contains less than 2% aggregates. Endotoxin: Less than 0.1 ng/ug (IEU/ug) of human resistin antagonist
Formulation: Recombinant resistin was lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) solution containg 0.03% NaHCO3.
Biological Activity: The biological activity was evidenced by resistin antagonist activity to inhibit resistin-induced Akt phosphorylation in two cell lines. It also reduced the weight (mainly the visceral fat) and normalized GTT and ITT inHFD-fed mice.
